Instagram™ is one of the fastest growing social networking sites in the world. There are 100 million+ registered users as of late 2012 and another 500,000 on the Android waiting list. Instagram is an increasingly popular social sharing site for tweens and teens. In fact, teens have been the leading contributor to the 1+ billion photos uploaded to date and the 5+ million new photos uploaded per day.
With uKnowKids, parents can see what photos their child has uploaded, who is commenting on those photos, what those comments are, and even who is “liking” the photos.
If would like to monitor your child’s Instagram account, there are two ways to connect their account to uKnowKids. The first way is to follow these simple steps:
Sign into your account.
Select the appropriate child
From the resulting page, click on the Settings Cog in the top right corner of the page;
From the drop down men, click on Manage Networks;
Select Instagram (as pictured below) and follow the prompts.
The second way to connect your child’s Instagram account to their profile is from the Launchpad page. If you have already accessed your child’s profile and you are viewing their Launchpad page, click the gray Instagram icon in the top left section of the Launchpad page and follow the prompt on the resulting page.
Important: Be sure you are not signed into Instagram with your own Instagram account when you attempt to connect your child’s Instagram. If you have a Instagram account and you have not signed out, you may inadvertently start monitoring your own Instagram account. Click here for instructions on what to do if you accidentally start monitoring your own Instagram account.
